Business Poetry
FOOTPRINTS
After every holiday, the school bell rings.
Batteries are recharged.
The teacher’s batteries.
The children’s.
Expectations are high.
A fresh start, with new resolutions and room to grow.
And yes, it will be weeks of endurance all over again.
Of hard and future-oriented work.
Progress guaranteed.
Every student puts their best foot forward whatever their qualities.
Nothing more, nothing less.
What if in business life a fresh start would become possible, regular as clockwork?
What if business life were to be a paragon of rhythm?
Of future-oriented work?
Of guaranteed progress?
In short: a model of sustainability.
MAKING MISTAKES IS OKAY
Did you ever cross the line before?
Open your big mouth?
Turn the class upside down?
Did you ever forget to do your homework or learn your lesson?
Did your teachers get angry?
Did they give you detention? Or was it your lucky day
and did you just get a warning?
As a kid, you were allowed to make mistakes.
Making mistakes was okay.
Preferably not too many, and preferably not always the same ones.
But it was okay.
There was a time to learn.
To fall.
To get up on your feet and fall again.
Imagine that making mistakes would be okay in business life too.
So that you could grow, learn, develop.
And were given enough time and space for it.
NOT ALWAYS THE BEST AT EVERYTHING
Excelling, always and everywhere?
Perfection until hell freezes over?
Act now instead of tomorrow.
Deliver top quality?
A jack of many trades?
Without exception.
Exercising or playing music after hours?
And excelling in that as well.
Do good, do better, be the best?
A world-class language learner or a maths wizard.
And not: good at languages and mathematics and science and drama and sports.
Imagine your knowledge and ability are the benchmark.
What if you could only pride yourself on your competences, strengths and talents?
Wholeheartedly?
TAKE A LEAF OUT OF A CHILD'S BOOK
A child can make a fresh start, every year after the summer holidays.
Batteries are recharged.
With renewed energy and courage, the child begins a new journey.
The direction is clear: become stronger and taller.
Make progress and persist.
Don’t stand still or give up.
Rhythm and regularity as allies.
Making mistakes is okay, is a must.
In order to learn.
To grow.
To make sustainable progress.
Your child will not always excel.
Because it’s all about personal knowledge and ability.
Nothing more, nothing less.
What’s the secret of sustainable entrepreneurship?
How can PROGRESS BE GUARANTEED?
How to work for the future?
The answer is simple.
Follow a CHILD’S FOOTSTEPS.
Tryouts and mistakes are okay.
Ask your organization to do the same.
The effort is great, as will be the result.
